SLJ Activity 1 Day 1 New Zealand Royalty

The link at the bottom:

What I found easy: Finding an image because there were a lot of images on the internet of her.
What I found hard: Getting my work done in time because we had a limited amount of time to do it.
What I found interesting: Finding out some of the facts about Lorde.
What we had to do: We had to make a Profile Page of Lorde and we had to put in some facts that we researched so that people would know more about Lorde.

  1. Mōrena Dion!

My name is Mikey. I'm a part of the Summer Learning Journey team this year and I'll be commenting on some of your blog posts this summer. Well done on completing your very first teaser week activity! I'm so pleased that you've decided to take part in the programme this year! :)

I really like the way you've chosen to display your information about Lorde. Your poster is a great colour - it really makes your blog pop! :) Are you a fan of Lorde's music? What would you say your favourite song is? One of the other blog commenters in the Summer Learning Journey team actually went to school with her - how cool is that?! Well done for remembering to attribute the image you've used as well.

Congratulations again on making a start on the teaser week activities. Remember that the programme officially starts next Monday (December 16th) so be sure to check out the Week 1 activities on our website then. I'm really looking forward to reading more posts from you soon, Dion. Until then, happy blogging!

    Mikey :)

    1. Hey Mikey,
I don't really listen to Lorde, but if I did start to listen to it then I'm sure I would get hooked in. Thanks for commenting on my post. I'll see you soon.

    2. Hi Dion!

That's fair enough. I'm not the biggest fan of her music either. What music do you like to listen to? If I had to choose my favourite New Zealand artists I think it'd have to be Fat Freddy's Drop and Six60. I've been listening to a lot of their music lately.

      Talk soon,

      Mikey

    3. I listen to a lot of rap I guess. I have listened to Six60 before they're really talented and their songs are really catchy. What do you think artists have to do to create good songs?

    5. Hey Dion,

Their songs are really catchy, aren't they? They're very easy to sing along and dance too. I'm actually going to a Six60 concert in February - I'm really looking forward to it!

      Who are your favourite rappers?

Oh, I'm not too sure on that one. I'd imagine they'd have to spend a lot of time perfecting lyrics and the music they lay them on top of. What do you think?

      Bye for now,

      Mikey
